About Center
Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology(RECAST)is established on the purpose of enhancing academic exchanging and cooperative researches for National Central University (NCU).
On the other hand, this institution is built to act in concert with country’s technology development policy simultaneously, and also to achieve the goal of combining researching resources effectively, promoting studies related to secure science and technology, cultivating professionals and upgrade the level of researching projects.
Research Areas
Four Key Core Research Areas
-
Communication Technology
It mainly includes technologies such as transmission access, network switching, mobile communication, wireless communication, optical communication, satellite communication, support management, and private network communication. Currently, popular technologies include 5G, LTE, IPTV, VoIP, NGN, and IMS.
-
Non-traditional Security
Non-traditional security threats refer to issues that humanity has either never encountered or rarely encountered in the past. These threats have gradually emerged in recent years and occur outside the battlefield, involving interactions between one or more countries. They pose significant threats to the survival and development of both the domestic and other countries, as well as to regional and global stability. These security issues arise from non-military and political conflicts in other domains that can seriously impact national security and social stability.
-
Information Technology
It is a collective term for various technologies used to manage and process information. It primarily involves the application of computer science and communication technologies to design, develop, install, and implement information systems and application software.
-
Space Technology
It refers to a technique that uses topological relationships, geometric relationships, or geographic attributes to study objects. It is a set of techniques that employ various analytical methods and are applied across different fields, many aspects of which are still in the exploration stage. Currently, spatial analysis is primarily used in geographic information systems (GIS) to analyze geographic data.
